Gerrilyn Levy Awarded Catalyst for CARE Award
Gerrilyn Levy, Families First Foster Care Program Manager, was awarded the Catalyst for CARE's Outstanding Leadership Award on Friday, May 23rd. This award is presented to an individual who has made outstanding contributions by supporting and leading his/her staff and/or agency. "The agency is very proud of Gerrilyn for being honored with this distinction," stated Roz Haralson, Vice President of Programs. "Gerrilyn is certainly deserving of the award for the strong leadership role and support she has provided to the agency and her staff during her tenure at Families First."
Catalyst for Care was originally founded as the Georgia Association for Homes and Services for Children Foundation in 1996. The organization was created by members of the Georgia Association of Homes and Services for Children (GAHSC) in order to provide for more direct services and supports to children, families, and service provider agencies. In 2007, the organization changed its name to Catalyst for CARE. Catalyst for CARE works to identify and fill the gaps in services available to kids in foster care by ensuring that every child has the resources a caring parent would provide.
The Catalyst for CARE Annual Conference is designed for staff of service provider agencies, and provides continuing education on best practices in service provision. This year, the conference was held in collaboration with the Department of Human Resources (DHR).
