Adopt-a-FAST Sessions - $10,000
Put your money where your heart is. Sponsor a session of the Families and Schools Together (FAST) program at a local elementary or middle school. This national program, administered by Families First for the state of Georgia, is a school based, collaborative, family focused program designed to increase the school performance and self-esteem of at-risk school children by supporting the natural strength of the family unit. For $10,000, you or your group can receive recognition, volunteer opportunities and the chance to make a difference in the lives of dozens of struggling families. "Mom's Night Out" Sitters and Sponsors - $500 per outing/$5,000 per year
Groups needed to sponsor "Mom's Night Out" at our Weaver Gardens and/or Second Chance Home for young mothers with children under two. Two to four volunteers are needed to provide childcare while other volunteers in the group can take residents to a movie, dinner or other event on Friday or Saturday evening, between the hours of 6pm and 9pm. Staff will supervise child care volunteers and provide transportation of the residents to and from the planned activity. Volunteers must be over the age of 18 and submit a volunteer application and agreement, as well as a background check and fingerprint screening.
Adopt -A-Group Home - $10,000 annual commitment
Individuals or groups are needed to sponsor outings and events for group home teens (3 homes in South Fulton County, 1 in Gwinnett County). Outings can include bowling, movies, arts events, fairs and festivals, sporting events, dinners, etc. Group home parents will provide transportation and supervision during outings and events. In-Kind donation opportunities also exist for group home sponsors. To comply with state requirements, volunteers must complete an application and agreement, as well as a background check and fingerprint screening.
