Families First is an Accredited family service organization and is licensed through the State of Georgia to provide services to the state's most precious resource, our children. Families First strictly adheres to the Department of Human Services, Office of Regulatory Services rules and regulations for child caring and child placing institutions.

IT Manager

Deadline for Applying: 03.15.10      Position Location: Atlanta, GA

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Information Technology or comparable hands on certifications and experience
  • Minimum 5 years experience in information technology is preferred, including experience in network administration
  • At least a MCP Certification (MCSE Preferred)
  • Excellent customer service and communications skills are a must
  • Experience in IT Project Management
  • Hands-on experience including LAN management, computer systems management, application management and telecommunication management
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and conceptual skills and ability to learn on the job is a must
  • Proven ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel is a must
  • Ability to identify and resolve computer system malfunctions and operational problems is a must.

 

Position Responsibilities:

The IT Manager position is responsible for all aspects of the data network, telecommunications, computing, and data management systems.

  • Monitor and manage LAN/WAN and servers including but not limited to DSM, EXC, SQL, IMG, FSX, SBS, TSV
  • Develop and Maintain a Disaster recovery plan
  • Plan and implement the innovative use of IT infrastructure and maintain a broad knowledge of state-of-the-art technology, equipment, and systems.
  • Manage the helpdesk function and provide ongoing 1st level and 2nd Level assistance when needed.
  • Develop, update and provide end-user training for computers and phone systems.
  • Ensure the smooth operation of technology.
  • Troubleshoot the computing equipment and software.
  • Administer voice and data network services.
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with personnel in other departments.
  • Provide technical consulting services to department/organization regarding use of computers and networks to satisfy business needs.
  • Gain understanding of organization specific software programs(s)
  • Research software applications that would better meet the needs of the organization and make recommendations for upgrades and/or alternative systems
  • Manage software upgrades and integrations for enterprise software systems
  • Recommend and Manage IT cost saving measures and IT vendor partners
  • Plan and implement network security, including firewalls, VPN, host security, file permissions, and file system integrity, virus software and adding and deleting users.
  • Maintain servers and 90 Windows XP Workstations/Laptops.
  • Install, configure, and maintain personal computers, networks, and/or related hardware and software.

Permanency Liaison (Part-Time)

Qualifications:

  • Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Two (2) years experience foster care/adoptive services or working with at risk children and youth
  • Knowledge of community resources and services

 

Position Responsibilities:

The Permanency Liaison is responsible for providing supportive services to youth in care.  The Liaison will also help families that become a permanent placement for you access and secure needed services that strengenthen the afamilies ability to provide a save, developmentally supportive and  indefinite home for youth in care.

Adoption Home Study Specialist

Deadline for Applying: 03.15.10      Position Location: AUGUSTA, GA

Qualifications:

The Adoption Home Study Specialist is responsible for:

  • Completing Adoption Home Study assessments
  • Completing post placement supervision reports once a child is placed
  • Submit reports in MS Work and into agency database
  • Travel to Atlanta quarterly for adoption supervision and training events
  • Work closely with adoption team and superviosr in staffing cases and offering intervention as needed
  • Submit accurate and professional documents to supervisor in a timely manner
  • Able to provide outstanding customer service

 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Masters Degree and licensure in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or Marriage and Family Therapy.
  • Licensure in one of the listed fields is required
  • 3 to5 years experience in child welfare preferred
  •  Experience in adoption or foster care is highly preferred
  • Solid assessment skills in evaluating potential candidates for adoption
  • Reliable transportation required
  • Ability to travel within Augusta and surrounding communities doing home visits
  • Solid computer and writing skills necessary - computer and writing skills assessment will be required for employment

Part-Time Community Resource Liaison

Deadline for Applying: 03.15.10      Position Location: Atlanta, GA

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in social services with minimum two (2) years of case management or social work experience
  • Masters degree in social service field preferred (i.e. social work, counseling, child and family services, human services)
  • Experience in group facilitation, linking clients to community resources
  • Knowledge of housing laws and resources
  • Experience working with affordable housing and substance abuse and mental health

Position Responsibilities:

The overall goals of the position are to enhance the resident's ability to manage community resources to build self-sufficiency, maintain stability in their affordable housing, and to promote continuity between property management and resident's supportive service needs.

  • Facilitation of life skills trainings
  • Resource coordination assistance to participating residents  in the supportive housing program
  • Comprehensive assessment planning
  • Evaluation of individual resident needs

Family Cooperative Reunification Liaison

Deadline for Applying:      Position Location: College Park, GA

Qualifications:

  • Possess Bachelor degree in Social Work or similar social service oriented curriculum
  • Have prior experience working with troubled teens
  • Provide a minimum of three(3) professional references
  • Successfully pass a seven (7) panel pre-employment drug and health screen
  • Possess a clear seven (7) year driving record

The ideal candidate will also:

  • Possess experience working with troubled teens
  • Value a structured environment and schedules and sticks to them
  • Exemplify patience, flexibility and understanding
  • Demonstrate a level of maturity beyond years
  • Exude a high level of energy and positive can do attitude
  • Know how to remain calm under pressure and during chaotic moments
  • Demonstrate active listening skills
  • Be able to pass an extensive Federal and State background check
  • Provide proof of educational background

 

Position Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for the day to day care and watchful oversight of teens in our Reunification Facilities and includes but is not limited to:

  • Safety of teens inside and out of the facility
  • Understanding behaviors of this diverse teen population and managing those behaviors
  • Crisis intervention
  • Teaching life skills
  • Ensuring the nutritional needs of the teens are met
  • Maintaining structure in the home
  • Advocating for individual teens and the population as a whole
  • This is a full time overtime eligible position
  • This is a shift work position where the employee will work four (4) days on, three (3) days off, three (3) days on, and four (4) days off
  • The Family Reunification Cooperative Liaisons are required be on premises around the clock for the prescribed shifts
  • Off day housing assistance is available
